The governor claimed that Nigeria is still facing significant issues as a result of leadership incompetence on Thursday during the flag-off ceremony of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, campaign for the Uyo Senatorial District, without naming any specific individuals.
He regretted that despite the great human potential in Akwa Ibom, none of its natives was permitted to lead Nigeria as president and quickly turn the country’s economy around.
He did, however, laud Pastor Umo Eno, the PDP’s nominee for governor, as a man with the ability to lead Akwa Ibom to greater heights and establish it as a model state in Africa.
I’ll keep saying it and repeating it again until everyone hears me: If you can’t handle a kiosk, you can’t lead a multinational, he declared. We are experiencing the issues we are in Nigeria today because democracy cannot be a dividend if a dividend has not been created somewhere. How I wish Akwa Ibom had the opportunity, with the vast people capacity to make them the President of Nigeria, to quickly turn around this nation’s economy.
In his remarks, Pastor Umo Eno, a PDP candidate for governor, pledged to build on the advancements made by Governor Emmanuel, particularly in the fields of rural agricultural development, health, tourism, women’s empowerment, and youth empowerment.
