Poor Nigerians who rely on the product to prepare their daily meals have become the biggest victims of dictator Buhari/APC regime.

But at this rate, the ministry seems to be more corrupt than it ever was, and dictator Buhari, who is both the President of Nigeria and Minister of Petroleum Resources, must be blamed for the corruption taking place under his nose!
This writer has been monitoring the situation with kerosene for some time. The product is sold at different prices across Nigeria, but the latest price in some places in Lagos is ₦2,400 for a full litre. Please take notice that I am not referring to the 75cl water bottle in which the product is sold in market places. This treatise is based on the price of a full litre of kerosene. 75cl is below a litre.
Kerosene was sold at over ₦2,100 in Cross River two months ago, by which time it was minimally less than ₦2,000 in Lagos. But because the cabal and their market forces increase the price of the product on a regular basis, it should be close to ₦3,000 at this time in Cross River. This is totally unacceptable!
The corruption behind kerosene in Nigeria is massive and endemic. The product is deliberately hoarded by market forces, who work in active connivance with Abuja-based government cabals. Consequently, these cabal members, whose principal aim is to impoverish everyday Nigerians in their desperate quest to become wealthier than they already are, release the product at an extremely expensive rate to retailers who, in their bid to make profit, sell the product to consumers at a more inflated price.
This corruption is why in Lagos, for instance, not everybody walks into a fueling station and returns with kerosene. It is never there for regular buyers, even when they publicly display it with such price tags as “₦50”, “₦100” or “₦150” per litre. Such displays are for public deception. It is only available for “special buyers”!
Has no one wondered why kerosene is never available for purchase in fueling stations across most states in Southern Nigeria, yet the product is always sold in market places and shops by petty traders? How do they get the product? In the event that nothing is done, by December this year, kerosene will be sold in Lagos at ₦4,500 or more per litre! They usually increase the price almost fortnightly, with ₦100 being the minimum that they add to the existing one.
The principal reason this fraud is not on the front pages of national dailies and why no one sees protests on the streets of Nigeria over the ongoing massive corruption and the cruel imposition of hardship on Nigerians through the sale of kerosene is solely because the product is mostly consumed by poor people who are not considered “relevant” enough to be invited to television stations to discuss the economic situation of Nigeria. They are also not relevant enough to be interviewed by reporters about the situation in the country.
There is no other country in the world where kerosene is so outrageously expensive as it is in contemporary Nigeria – ironically an oil producing nation! Preposterous.
The continuous resistance Nigerians put up each time the oil cabal and their accomplices in government houses in Abuja have attempted to insensitively hike the price of petrol, has made them shift their focus on kerosene, where they are guaranteed that no noise will be made enough to shatter their ongoing massive fraud against the Nigerian people.
There is absolutely no justification for selling kerosene at the outrageous price of ₦2,400 per litre in Nigeria, none whatsoever. The average price of kerosene elsewhere in the world is ₦492.48! Why is it sold at ₦2,400 per litre in Nigeria? Their usual excuse is that the product is deregulated, and that as a result, government has no control over its cost. This excuse is old-fashioned. Everybody knows that oil marketers are not completely independent in Nigeria and refusal to “cooperate” attracts certain consequences.
It is unacceptable that Nigerians are being duped on their own soil over oil they naturally have the right to also enjoy. There’s need for Nigerians pay very close attention to the ongoing fraud in kerosene. If Nigerians continue to look the other way, these oil fraudsters will hike kerosene price to ₦5,000 per litre, forcing the product’s consumers to resort to the use of firewood.
There is no doubt that the APC anti-people regime has brought widespread poverty to Nigeria and is working extremely hard consolidate the situation, but buying kerosene they fetch from our backyards at ₦2,400 per litre is unacceptable and must be discussed now!
