Okonkwo bemoaned the extent of corruption inside the APC government, claiming that he did not vote for witches to start acting like animals and stealing the nation’s money.
During a question-and-answer session for the Channels TV program Politics Today, the veteran actor made this statement.
He bemoaned the eight-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, or ASUU, and the students, which had no sign of ending.
“APC is horrible because it doesn’t produce any sound; all you hear is noise, and you know that when people argue loudly, they are exchanging ignorance.”
“That was not the reason I entered APC; I did not subscribe to the notion that ASUU would be at home, students at home, and my younger children denied education for months with no end in sight.
“I joined APC because they assured me they would address security issues following PDP’s failure; give it to PDP; they failed, they admitted it, and they apologized. The security that was only present in the northeast of Nigeria has spread throughout the country after the APC arrived and pretended to build upon what the PDP had accomplished.
“On the subject of corruption, one person who is meant to be the guardian of Nigeria’s funds was accused of stealing N109 billion; the demonstrable one. You could envision seeing termites devouring documents, apes gulping down cash, or snakes turning into money eaters in the APC regime.
“I didn’t vote for animals to start acting like witches trying to steal our money. Therefore, everyone in the APC government has turned into a thief, including animals, he claimed.
