The meal was organized to honor the disengaging soldiers who had rendered exemplary service to the army, according to Maj.-Gen. Kabir Garba, the commander of AHQ Garrison, who was represented by Brig.-Gen. Jefferson Feboke, his Chief of Staff.

The Chief of Army Staff’s efforts to maintain regimentation in the Nigerian army, according to Garba, are consistent with his command philosophy, which is based on professionalism, readiness, administration, and cooperation.

He recalled that Army Headquarters had hosted a send-off and regimental supper in December 2021 in honor of retiring Major-Generals and Brigadier Generals, while the event for colonels and lower-ranking officers took place on September 23.

The significance of today’s occasion lies in the fact that the valedictory meal is being hosted in honor of the army warrant officers and below who are disengaging.

In keeping with his command philosophy, he stated, “this is definitely another landmark success by the Chief of Army Staff in his quest to sustain regimentation in the Nigerian army.”

Brig.-Gen. Akinniyi Oyelade, the Deputy Director of Manpower Planning at Army Headquarters, thanked the disengaging personnel for their sacrifices on behalf of the Nigerian army and the entire country.

According to Oyelade, most military members hoped for disengagement or retirement since it would allow them to live their later years in a fulfilling and tranquil way after giving their all to the system.

The journey from active military service to retirement, in his opinion, is not without its unique challenges, making it a milestone that merits celebration.

He claimed that retiring employees had a lot to look forward to, particularly if they had planned well.

Oyelade stated that every effort was being made to guarantee that all retired personnel’s pensions were paid on schedule.

“I may not be the best person to do this, but I’m going to anyhow.

“I’m warning you to use your rights to the fullest extent possible and to watch out for some tricks.

The army, Commander Headquarters Garrison of Sansa men, deserves special praise for their tireless work in putting together this auspicious occasion for you, your families, and friends at this point, therefore I’d like to turn to the commander.

In a similar spirit, I’d like to thank and congrats your families, especially your spouses who supported you or provided the morale boost you needed to get through your years of duty up to retirement.

I’ll conclude by pleading with everyone attending the celebration to dedicate themselves to serving the country.

Grace Pathon, a retired Army Warrant Officer, responded on behalf of the retired personnel and thanked the commander and the COAS for the honor.

When needed, the retired personnel, according to Pathon, will always be prepared to serve the country.
