The union made the choice at the conclusion of the National Executive Council meeting, which was held at the ASUU secretariat in Abuja on Thursday, October 13, until early Friday, October 14, and was attended by members of the union.
The union scheduled the conference after its state chapters last week discussed the Court of Appeal verdict in order to decide its course of action. Before hearing ASUU’s appeal of the decision ordering lecturers to resume work, the court had ordered them to stop their strike.
Since this year’s Valentine’s Day, the ASUU has been on strike.
