After the El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos extended their lead over rival Barca by three points.
In a contentious decision, Rodrygo’s penalty in the 91st minute gave Madrid the victory, despite the fact that referee Sanchez Martinez had been requested to first examine the VAR monitor at the side of the field.
Martinez disregarded Robert Lewandowski’s request for a similar penalty earlier in the game.
After the game, Laporta directly contacted the officials since he was dissatisfied with them.
The Barca president entered their changing room and “repeatedly requested answers concerning several incidents in the match,” according to the referee’s match report.
Following that, Laporta was “asked to depart without more incident.”
