Mr. Knowles claimed he started to notice red dots on the white t-shirts his wife had ordered for him. The red dots were consistently in the same place on all of the t-shirts, leading him to believe at first that it had something to do with the clothing.

He claimed that after inquiring about the “black dots of blood” on his t-shirt from his wife, Gena Avery, she informed him that she had also seen the same black spots of blood on his side of their bed linens.

I need to have a mammogram, Mathew told his doctor after remembering that one of the symptoms of breast cancer in men is blood discharge.

The following day, he had a mammogram and a biopsy, the results of which revealed he had breast cancer.

He recalled, “Then then I had surgery and I had a mastectomy a few days after.”

He stated that his surgeon had told him there was one more test he wanted him to have right before the operation. He was identified as “BRCA2 mutated” after the results were revealed.

According to MedlinePlus, mutations in the BRCA2 gene are linked to an increased risk of breast cancer in both men and women as well as a number of other cancer types.

The mother, aunt, and great aunt of Mathew Knowles all passed away from breast cancer.

Then, Mr. Knowles pleaded with men to be tested because they are also at risk for developing breast cancer.

Mathew Knowles has recovered from cancer.

The video below shows him speaking.
