Commissioner urges teachers, administrators to consider service as public trust

The new Commissioner for Education in Kano State, Alhaji Ya’u Yanshana, has urged teachers and education administrators to consider their services as public trust.

Yanshana made the remarks on Friday in Kano, while addressing heads of boards, agencies parastatals and staff of the ministry.

He pledged to work towards achieving the mission and vision of Gov Abdullahi Ganduje in promoting the development of the education sector.

The commissioner noted that the sector was vested with a duty of good upbringing and knowledge imparting from the early to the adolescent ages of children.

He therefore said, “Teachers and staff of the ministry should consider their service as a trust.
“Ministry of education is one the largest ministries that has vital responsibilities, therefore, all hands must be on deck to ensure effective performance in the discharge of such responsibilities,” he said.

He expressed readiness to serve diligently and to the best of his ability within the period of his stewardship as a Commissioner in the state.

 

Yanshana also promised to operate an open-door policy and allow all to take their responsibilities with vigour.

In her response, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hajiya Lauratu Ado-Diso, assured the Commissioner of the unflinching support and cooperation of the entire staff of the ministry and its parastatals.

She said that would assist to enable him to succeed in his given assignment
