According to reports, the fire broke out at 11 am, just after a religious service on the building’s top floor.

According to reports, the plaza on 43 Martins Street, which was destroyed by fire in 2020, was the origin of the blaze.

The plaza was just rebuilt after the previous conflagration.

The plaza’s owner, according to the aggrieved and irate traders, is to blame for the frequent fire outbreaks, with Sunday’s event being the sixth. They also expressed concern about attacking the owner.

According to the Lagos State Incident Service, the fire was reported at 11:12 p.m. The team arrived to find the blaze well alive on the fourth floor of the six-story building, where it had already extended to the fifth and sixth floors.

“Due to the strength of the fire, the aerial ladder platform fire apparatus had to be used to extend the firefighting capabilities to contain the highrise spread and stop it from spreading to neighboring buildings, which goal was accomplished as the fire was contained to house 43.

“The intensity that has been reduced is being fueled by the free-burning textile materials composition stored in defiance of Fire Safety Regulations. Electrical surge is thought to be the fire’s primary cause.

Director Margaret Adeseye stated, “There was neither an injury nor a casualty recorded as dampening down of echelon of fire is underway and additional updates will be made available as scenario necessitates.
