The co-founder of Tesla and SpaceX tweeted “the bird is liberated” on Friday, appearing to confirm this.

In late April, it was originally revealed that the powerful social media site would be purchased for $44 billion.

However, conflicts in the months that followed put the sale and takeover in jeopardy.

Musk was charged with violating the terms of the contract, according to a complaint filed by the administration of Twitter at the time.

With Musk now in charge, Twitter’s CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and top legal executive Vijaya Gadde have all been let go.

Biz Stone, a co-founder, hailed the group for their “combined contribution” to the company.

Following the completion of the transaction, Agrawal and Segal were escorted from Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters, according to Reuters.
