Both teams were separated by Marcus Rashford’s second-half goal, the England international’s 100th goal for the Red Devils.
Despite dominating the game, United made a valiant effort to earn their three points in the closing moments.
Martinez’s performance particularly pleased Neville, who told Sky Sports, “They all contributed out there. De Gea will take them all, but in the final 15 to 20 minutes, Dalot, Martinez, Maguire, and De Gea all shown fantastic play.
“Manchester United didn’t put on a very strong performance in terms of play, but they did a great job of persevering and defending their area.
For significant portions of that game, Lisandro Martinez was absolutely terrific.
