Iwobi scored his first goal of the year, but it was insufficient as the Toffees fell to Erik ten Hag’s team 2-1 at Old Trafford.

In the fifth minute, the Nigerian international gave Everton the lead.

In the fiercely contested game, Manchester United earned all three points thanks to goals from Antony and replacement Cristiano Ronaldo.

Everton’s seven-game winning streak came to an end as a result of the loss.

Iwobi emphasized the need for the Merseysiders to take the loss as a lesson and prepare for the future.

Iwobi told the club’s official website, “The way we gave up their two goals was something we were talking about before the game.

“We are aware of their potential for a counterattack. We attempted to undo that, but we were unsuccessful. There were a few errors, so we shouldn’t focus on them for too long.

Iwobi also thought back on the game’s outstanding goal he scored.

“Let me try and position it,” I thought when the ball came to me. It’s something I can incorporate into my strategy, and perhaps more goals like that will follow.
