Rashford scored the first goal and assisted Anthony Martial for the second, while Fred came off the bench to finish off Casemiro’s delectable pass on stoppage time.
The victory put Manchester United just one point behind top four as the Premier League returns after the FIFA World Cup break.
Fernandes hailed Rashford for the execution of the first goal which was a fine display of teamwork from Erik ten Hag’s side.
Christian Eriksen passed the ball directly to Rashford from the corner kick spot while Wolves were waiting to defend a cross and the England international flicked the ball past everyone into the top corner.
“It was fantastic. We know that if we have the players that have the capability to do the passes as Christian [Eriksen] did, obviously Marcus [Rashford] can finish,” he said after the game.
“We know he can score many, many goals. It was the perfect goal for him because he has the confidence and ability to do it.
“Everyone knows he has the ability to score. Marcus has a natural strength. He doesn’t need to hit the ball so hard if he hits it harder, it’s also difficult for the goalkeeper.
“But we trained it yesterday and he understood it was a flick on the ball, a little touch and he stands a chance to score,” he added.
