Arsenal legend, Emmanuel Petit, has heaped praises on the club’s defender William Saliba.

Petit said Saliba, who returned to Arsenal in the summer, wanted revenge on manager Mikel Arteta for not giving him a chance earlier, adding that he is impressed with the player’s display so far this season.
Recall that Saliba returned to Arsenal after his loan spell with Marseille expired in the summer.
“He [Saliba] confirms all the good things we saw from him last season with Marseille,” Petit told 90Min France.
“He showed great maturity. Three years after signing for Arsenal, I think he came back with a sense of revenge too, he wanted to prove something to everyone, especially [Mikel] Arteta.”
He continued, “And I think he plays very well. He is like a rock. I like his reading of threats.
“[I’m] impressed, yes. Because he had to confirm all the good things we saw from him last season with Marseille.”
