Sola Ebiseni, Secretary General of the Yoruba Socio-Cultural group Afenifere, has called the claim made in several media outlets that the group’s leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, endorsed the candidacy of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as false.

Ebiseni stated that it was merely a blessing and not an endorsement.
The Yoruba apex organization’s Chief Scribe revealed this on Tuesday morning while answering questions on the Arise TV show programme.
Remember that the ensuing confusion in the Yoruba socio-political group was exacerbated when Pa Fasoranti was quoted as saying that the frontline Yoruba group supports Tinubu rather than Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
According to Cezza’s Blog, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, who was said to be acting in an acting capacity for the group, endorsed Obi, insisting that it is the South-turn East’s to produce the next President.
Soon after Adebanjo endorsed Obi, Pa Fasoranti endorsed Tinubu’s 2023 bid and blessed him.
However, Ebiseni has stated that the meeting that resulted in Tinubu’s alleged endorsement was not an Afenifere meeting.
“Was that a recommendation, an Afenifere recommendation?” I wish you had asked that as the second part of your question.”
“Now, as I previously stated, the meeting they held was not an Afenifere meeting. That meeting was announced in the name of a Whatsapp group called “Conscience of Yoruba Nation.”
“I’m sure Dr. Abati would be on that stage.” There are a lot of people there who are the conscience of the Yoruba Nation; you don’t have to be a politician to be there. I’m not sure if Rufai is as political as Dr. Abatti, but I know he once wanted to be a deputy governor.”
“You see, those who expressed political inclination about this time were gathered in the Whatsapp group, and my brother says he is the director general,” he continued.
“They told people, please, we are going to hold a meeting in respect of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidency, and Pa Fasoranti has agreed to host and preside over that meeting; the meeting will last only two hours, from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.”
“I told you there was a debate from July 29, 2021 to September 27, 2022 (14 months of debate), compared to the jamboree’s two hours.”
It was not a recommendation; Baba has the ability to bless anyone.
“So, many people will still seek Pa Fasoranti’s blessing; this does not change Afenifere’s decision to support Peter Obi.”
