The 52-year-old, who used to weigh over 400lbs and suffered from diabetes, embarked on a bid to get fit after his overweight friends began dying young.

Fat Joe revealed to Page Six;

It wouldn’t be wise to change my name at this time because I spent millions and millions of dollars selling Fat Joe as a business, I said.

The hitmaker, whose previous stage name was Fat Joe Da Gangsta, stated, “I grew up in the projects where there was no filter.”

Added him;

The crack in my butt would be visible when the teacher would, say, write something on the chalkboard since I was always huge. That is how I kept my moniker, the girls would say, “Yeah, Joey Crack.”

When he reached his greatest weight, Joe said to CNN in 2011: “I suppose I weighed approximately 450/460.” That’s a lot! Fat Joe is that.

Added him;

I’ve always taken pride in my weight. I stood in for huge individuals, but I eventually discovered that all of my big people were passing away.

I lost six pals to heart attacks only last year. Although the most of them were younger than I was, they shared my height. I therefore had a friend who was funnier than I was. He was more hip than I was. God undoubtedly loved him, yet he perished. I couldn’t believe he passed away at the age of 32 or 33 from a heart attack.
