According to Prof. Amund, adopting the “Japa syndrome” as an excuse to vacation overseas is the same as avoiding issues that won’t go away once they get back home.

At a press conference to announce the college’s combined 6th and 7th convocation ceremonies, the vice chancellor of the institution revealed this.

He emphasized that Nigerians must work to improve their nation and added, “There is nothing that is out there that we cannot accomplish here. The environment where they are headed is similar to this one.

“The major reason people travel abroad is because they are not happy with what they already have. They go there to work at low-paying jobs. Therefore, people who engage in it are mistaken.

Prof. Amund described the convocation ceremonies for the 2020–2021 and 2021–2022 sessions and disclosed that 489 students will graduate from the university overall.

He claimed that of the graduates, 42 received First Class, 205 received Second Class (Upper), 199 received Second Class (Lower), and 39 received Third Class.

According to Prof. Amund, the vice president of Liberia, Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, will present the convocation address with the title “Africa Renaissance: Key for New Global Leadership Paradigm.”
