The state government of Lagos has declared a one-month traffic diversion in the area in order to carry out flood abatement work and renovation of various sections of the Oke-koto/Agunbiade crossroads in Agege Local Government Area.

From October 21 to November 21, 2022, a part of the road will be temporarily blocked to traffic, according to the state’s commissioner of transportation, Frederic Oladeinde.
In order to minimize pain for road users and guarantee smooth traffic flow during the rehabilitation phase, road users have been encouraged to abide by traffic signs erected along the construction zone.
Oladeinde declared
“Vehicles traveling toward Oke-Koto from Oba Ogunji through the Fly Over Bridge are urged to find their route via the bridge ramp to Old Abeokuta/Nitel and Connect Orile-Agege.
“Similarly, Old Abeokuta Road traffic headed toward Oba Ogunji is urged to use Agege-Isokoko to reach Asade-Oba Akran Road. The Morcass road is one of the several alternate roads that drivers from Ipaja road can take to connect with Oniwaya and continue their journey.
The press release went on to explain the traffic redirection plan in more detail, but it also claimed that drivers arriving from Agunbiade and its neighboring streets will still be able to use the Pen Cinema Bridge to access the Oba Ogunji road.
While the exercise is underway, relevant traffic management organizations, in particular the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), will maintain smooth traffic flow.
