“The person you were at 18 or 20 is not the same person you will be at 30. You don’t have financial security, you don’t have a job, you don’t know where you’re going, there are so many unanswered questions, and you haven’t matured into who you are. “You’re just trying to figure things out,” she explained.

 

Her position has elicited a range of reactions. While some Nigerians agree with her, others believe that age has no bearing on whether a marriage succeeds or fails.

 

Others argue that even people who had figured themselves out prior to marriage ended up divorcing their partners.
