The greatest fashion event in Europe showcasing and fostering African and African-inspired creative talent is called Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL). At the conclusion of the 2022 edition of AFWL, which took place at the famous Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden, London, one fashion label was on everyone’s lips: “Piillz n Poizn.”

Fast and emerging fashion brand, Piillz n Poizn has over the last 18-month been doing extremely remarkable jobs, headlining major fashion shows around the globe and in the process gaining international recognition and acceptance.
Before its grand display of artistry and fashion dominance at the 2022 African fashion Week in London, Piillz n Poizn turned heads back in August when 24-year-old Swelia Da Silva Antonio was crowned the new Miss Universe in Angola.
The elaborate clothes created by Nigerian fashion label Piillz n Poizn and worn by each of the 25 participants individually were one of the night’s major attractions. Swlelia, a social scientist from the Netherlands, defeated 24 other contestants to win the national competition.
Piillz n Poizn headed to the UK to do what it does best; the designs were a delightful display of wearable art and a blend of contemporary, exquisite chic, and prét a porter creations. Piillz n Poizn received praise from Nigeria, Angola, and other places.
Leading this brand was a pleasant challenge, and I’m delighted my team and I were able to not only rise to the occasion but meet and exceed standard expectations, in the words of Fifi Umenyiora, the chief designer of the rapidly expanding fashion company. I’m happy that the audience and the fashion industry were astounded by our designs and the level of ingenuity that went into the creation.
