This was said by Peter Obi on Monday at the interactive session between the Arewa Joint Committee and the 2023 presidential aspirants.
He declared that a transformative government was required since he thought Nigeria’s greatest assets were in the north.
“We will resurrect Nigeria,” he asserted. In the Bank of Agriculture, where our farmers may directly access loans, all banks will be shareholders.
Assuring that his government would do all possible to erase poverty in the nation and give Nigerians new hope for a better life, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party believes that crime could be drastically reduced if Nigerians were lifted out of poverty.
Obi made it clear that his candidacy is for a brand-new Nigeria in all respects, and he expressed his sincere wish to make Nigerians proud of themselves and their nation everywhere they go.
Additionally, he said that his government will combat corruption “to the death,” arguing that it is simple to do so when one is not also stealing.
“Our history is gone, and we must face the future,” he lamented. When a person is not stealing, fighting corruption is simple. To escape the curse it has currently placed upon us, all Nigerians must battle against the theft of our money and the organized crime that subsidy represents.
He also vowed to give Nigerians hope, promising that he and his running mate would be in control and assuring them that they would not let them down since they had the physical strength to do what is required of them by the constitution.
“I will dialogue with every agitator in every region of Nigeria because it would make us a better and united Nigeria,” the presidential hopeful said.
Obi also pledged to invest more in women, saying that they are incredibly hardworking and committed to whatever it is they have to do to make a living.
Therefore, he asked Nigerians to cast their votes for someone they can believe in, noting that he was the only candidate who could be relied upon in the election in the following year.
