On Monday morning, October 10, Russia launched many missiles at five Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kyiv, in retaliation for the attack on the Crimean bridge over the weekend.

In Kyiv, Lviv, Ternopil, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, and Zaporizhzhia, loud explosions were audible.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, wrote the following on his Telegram account:
“They are attempting to obliterate us and wipe us off the face of the planet on the 229th day. Destroy all of our residents of Zaporizhzhia who are asleep at home. Murder those who travel to Dnipro and Kiev for business.
Ukraine as a whole continues to experience air alert. Missiles are crashing. Sadly, there are also injured and dead. Do not leave the shelters, please. Take good care of your family and yourself. Let’s persevere and show courage.
Vitali Klitchko, the mayor of Kiev, also posted a message “Russian terrorists are attacking the nation’s capital!
“The Solomyan and Shevchenkiv districts as well as the city center were both struck by the rockets. The threat is still present because to the air warning.
“I urge all citizens of the capital to remain in shelters when the warning sounds. It is best to stay home today if there is no pressing reason to travel.”
Following the sound of the explosion, videos posted on social media show black smoke rising from a building in the city center. Eyewitnesses report that some “missile strikes” were “shot down” by Ukrainian forces.
One of the missiles hit an apartment complex, causing one fatality and six injuries. However, in contrast to earlier attacks, which primarily targeted the city’s periphery. The attack on Monday targeted a number of facilities in the city’s center.
Kyiv was most recently attacked in June.
An explosion on the Kerch Strait Bridge, which connects occupied Crimea to Russia, occurred just a few days prior to the attack.
The explosion seriously damaged property and will restrict supply routes for Russian military operating in Ukraine.
In response to rare domestic criticism, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that the strike was carried out by special forces from Ukraine.
