At the Noevir Stadium in Kobe, the former world champions defeated the Super Falcons 2-0 in a friendly match.

Four minutes after the hour mark, Mina Tamaka gave the Asians the lead.

In the 68th minute, the attacker added a second goal from the penalty spot.

Following the victory, the Nadeshiko extended their winning streak against the Super Falcons to three games.

Ikeda was described by the official website of the Japanese Football Federation as saying, “Up until now, we have frequently played with a four-man defense line, but we have devised a new system to widen the range of our plays both as a team and as individuals.”
“I am pleased with the players’ efforts in that direction. We spent a lot of time in the first half deliberating the effects of the new system, so there weren’t many actions below the defense line or shots on goal.

“I believe that the success was also aided by the fact that we were able to win the international game well.”
