The National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, led by Eshanakpe Israel, the Mayor of Urhoboland, has blasted former President Goodluck Jonathan for reportedly endorsing former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential elections.

Akpodoro expressed disappointment that Jonathan, who was highly regarded, could descend to the extent of sponsoring a Fulani man’s bid to follow another even though the vast majority of well-meaning Nigerians of northern ancestry are opposed to Atiku’s candidacy
“Why the previous President chose to maintain his insult to the collective sensitivities of Nigerians,” questioned the Gbaregolor, a youth leader from Ughelli South Local Government Area.
The prior leader, he continued, had damaged southern Nigeria’s aspirations by supporting a different Fulani individual.
‘Jonathan wentofed horribly, little wonder he lost the election as President due to blatant indiscretion on the part of the lecturer-turned-politician,’ he stated.
“Now that we understand why the previous President lost his bid for reelection in 2015, we can say that Mr. Jonathan has enormous difficulties because inconsistency and indiscretion have no significance to him
For the sake of equity and brotherhood, “His Excellency stated that Mr. Jonathan should support Governor Nyesom Wike’s insistence on the resignation of the PDP National Chairman and the governor of Delta State should not be endorsed by anyone, noting that the Governor of Rivers State is the only leader capable of guiding the diverse south-south region to the promised land, rather than endorsing Okowa,” the statement read.
The alliance claimed that Governor Wike was the only voice against the PDP’s perfidy and dishonor toward Southern Nigerians, which was “championed by the combination of Atiku and Okwa,” by “arm-twisting the region” over the party’s ticket, which he claimed was stolen.
“In Wike, Southern Nigeria has a voice that, while currently unheard, will eventually inspire action against the country’s opponents of peace. Nothing could be more offensive than our refusal to negotiate the return of power to the South, our refusal of one man’s perfidy and hubris against the vast majority of Nigerians, our refusal of caving in to Okowa’s grandstanding and excessive ambition
“Nigerians witnessed Jonathan’s campaign for the APC presidential nomination prior to the party’s national convention. In the same vein as what he apparently doing now, he kept Nigerians wondering back then by engaging in a game of hide-and-seek, a PDP-exclusive move. May God forbid that the umbrella party ever again rules Nigeria.
“Jonathan should retract those remarks that are thought to be an unintentional endorsement of Okowa. Because we in the South implore God for the President and not a Vice President, Mr. Okowa would never serve as vice president in Nigeria, the outspoken mayor declared.
