When the governor led Maj. Gen. Umar Musa, the general officer commanding (GOC) of the 82nd Division of the Nigerian Army, and Ahmed Ammani, the commissioner of police, on a strategic assessment of the region on Thursday in Enugu, they made the commitment.

Others were Brig. Gen. M.K. Ibrahim, garrison commander of the 82nd Division of the Nigerian Army, and DSS Director H.M. Daluwa.

In order to put a stop to the recent roadside kidnappings, they also evaluated the kidnapper’s lairs.

During the on-site evaluation visit, Maj. Gen. Musa spoke to reporters.

Maj. Gen. Musa acknowledged that “the offenders are exclusively kidnappers” while speaking to reporters during the on-the-spot inspection visit on behalf of the other leaders of the state’s security services.

In order to catch the offenders, save the victims, and put a stop to the threat along the route, he told the public that the team of security agencies was moving further into the bush.

I can tell you that we will pursue them all the way into the jungle to make sure they don’t cause any more damage down the road.

The GOC praised Gov. Ugwuanyi for his leadership of the team and his unwavering dedication to resolving the security issues posed by the hoodlums along the Ugwogo-Opi road.

Maj. Gen. Musa cautioned the public, though, to report any occurrence to the security agencies rather than immediately taking to social media.

He claims that news stories shared on social media platforms are frequently unsubstantiated incidences that could mislead the general population.

Despite the sad happenings on the Ugwogo-Opi road, the GOC insisted that Enugu was still a calm state.

This state is quiet, but occasionally you have criminals, and I guarantee you that these criminals will be fished out and they will be dealt with. We are here; we have seen the deployment

Prior to their inspection visit to the Ugwogo-Opi route with other chiefs of security agencies, Gov. Ugwuanyi met in private with the GOC of the 82nd Division of the Nigerian Army in his office.
