World-renowned neurosurgeon Suleiman, who recently received the Federal government’s Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) award, gave a speech at a reception held in his honor at his country home, Ajase-Ipo, in the Kwara state local government area’s Ifelodun Local Government Area, over the weekend.

“My parents are illiterate; they did not receive a western education. My medical school was funded by the Nigerian government, and I am now a neurosurgeon and the recipient of the CON Award. If it weren’t for the scholarship I received, my life’s journey would have been very different today, he stated at the Olupo of Ajase-palace. Ipo’s

He expressed gratitude to the National Awards Selection Committee and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Suleiman expressed his happiness at being one of the 570 Nigerians to receive a CON award from the federal government since the national award statute was established in 1963, while not holding a public post or belonging to the party in power.

That is still another reason, he continued, “why I have a strong feeling that my decision to enter politics is decreed by God.”

The SDP senatorial candidate continued by saying that Nigeria needs high-quality representation in both houses of the national assembly to support effective administration and address the various problems the country faces.

If elected as a senator, he pledged to work for representation that will improve the lives of his constituents and all Nigerians, saying that access to high-quality education and healthcare will always be among his top priorities.

Suleiman urged everyone in possession of a permanent voter card (PVC) to cast their ballots for all SDP candidates in the general elections of 2023, assuring them that their votes would be counted thanks to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) introduction of electronic results transmission.

Alhaji Isiak Abdulazeez, the state chairman of the Kwara SDP, and Chief Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, a party chieftain, urged the residents of Kwara South to vote SPD in the general elections of 2023 and to start a “door-to-door campaign” as well.

The Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Alhaji Bashir Bolarinwa, and Alhaji Kale Belgore, a former counselor to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, among other notables, attended the ceremony.
