Gary Lineker, a former striker for Barcelona, responded to Gerard Pique’s abrupt retirement from football. Lineker praised Pique’s career at Camp Nou and claimed it was difficult for him to picture Barcelona without the Spaniard.

Pique spoke to the Barcelona faithful during his moving goodbye speech on Saturday night at Camp Nou.

On Thursday, the former Manchester United great announced his unexpected retirement from the game.

In their LaLiga victory over Almeria at Camp Nou on Saturday, Pique made his final appearance for Barcelona.

 

After the game, Lineker responded by tweeting via his Twitter account: “A victorious finale for the outstanding @3gerardpique. A @FCBarcelona squad without him is difficult to envision.
