and Development Council(RMRDC), to ensure that raw materials are transformed into finished and revenue-generating products.

Mamora who gave the task in Abuja during the inauguration of the Governing Board of Raw Materials Research and Development Council

(RMRDC) in his office, told the members of the Governing Board to be grateful to Mr. President for choosing them out of millions of Nigerians.

He appealed to them to work assiduously towards the industrialisation of the country.

He noted that meaningful progress cannot be achieved in the absence of peace, unity and collaboration in any organisation and enjoined them to work as a team to achieve the national goal.

Mamora further charged the Board to use their wealth of experience to lift the Agency to a greater height, adding that potentials remain potential until translated into useful products.

He warned them not to interfere with the day-to-day running of the Agency, noting that they should rather make policies that would drive the growth of the Agency.

He advised them to work with “5Cs principles” which are collaboration, communication, cooperation,

coordination and cordiality in order to contribute their quota to the development of the country.

Earlier, the Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation (FMSTI)Chief Henry Ikoh, said that board members were selected based

on their track records as Nigeria is moving from a resource to a knowledge-based economy.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Monilola Udoh, assured the members of the Board of the Ministry’s readiness to ensure the success of the Agency.

Responding, the Chairman of the Governing Board, Isa Sadiq Acida, said RMRDC is an important Agency in bringing about speedy growth and

development in the country through its mandate of development and utilisation of Nigerian industrial raw materials.

He also reiterated that raw materials and development would make a greater impact on the nation’s economy by ensuring that more resources are harnessed to build the industrial

and agricultural sectors which would in turn improve the balance of payment in the international market and raise the living standard of Nigerians.
