On October 8, 2022, in the state’s Giwa Local Government Area, the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch purportedly carried out the raid.
According to a security source, Mr. Dogo and his cohorts abandoned Niger State for the Giwa Local Government Area in Kaduna as a result of increased airstrikes on their earlier hiding place.
Before the airstrikes, the terrorists were sheltering at the home of one Alhaji Gwarzo in Yadi, in the Giwa council region.
“Unfortunately for Yellow and his fighters, a NAF aircraft struck Alhaji Gwarzo’s home while they were gathering, killing everyone inside, including Yellow, the newspaper reported via a military source.
The terrorists were also killed in other airstrikes that were directed at a location 33 kilometers northwest of Mando in Kaduna.
“The area was attacked, killing several terrorists, according to a security source, after credible intelligence indicated that terrorist leaders and their foot soldiers were gathering there for a conference under the cover of trees.
