The Federal Government is already developing 37 smart schools in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, according to Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), who led the Nigerian delegates to the Asian nation (FCT).
The delegation to South Korea, according to UBEC’s head of public relations, David Apeh, included some states’ chairmen of the Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEB) as well as top representatives from UBEC, the Federal Ministry of Education, the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, and the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI).
A notion known as “smart education” refers to education in the digital age, in which emphasis is focused on the role of technology in fostering engaging learning experiences to fulfill the different requirements of learners.
