Nine months had passed since the savage murder of the deceased’s 20-year-old daughter, Ebunoluwa, in the same house and under comparable circumstances.
The two victims are said to have been murdered due to a land dispute, according to sources.
Adesitimi’s wife allegedly left the house through the back door after seeing her husband being attacked with an axe.
According to reports, the wife told the police that she overheard the guys in Ibadan asking for documentation for the disputed piece of land.
The deceased’s eldest son, Atinu Adesitimi, alleged that his parents had expressed fear for his safety after the death of his younger sister.
The father was reportedly asked, “Where is the document?” by the men, who the mother overheard. After seeing what was happening, my mother fled out the back door to our neighbor’s home, where she could make a phone call to the police. Instead of following us to our house to diffuse the situation, the police officers at the checkpoint escorted us back to their station, where we lost time.
“When my mother and the policemen arrived back at the house, my father had already passed away. My father had previously informed me that a land dispute involving himself and some men who had encroached on his grandmother’s property had been litigated in court for six years.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Fumilayo Odunlami, confirmed the event and stated that an inquiry had begun.
