According to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara, aggressive security measures have been taken to reduce thuggery and criminal activity in Gusau and the surrounding area.

In an address to Corps personnel on Friday in Gusau, Mr. Mohammad Muazu, the newly appointed Commandant of the Corps in the state, said as much.

In order to combat young crime and thugsry during the election campaigns, he said the Corps would step up night patrol.

He said, “The command decided to increase up effort to confront security concerns head-on.
Muazu asked the Corps’ employees to carry out their duty within the bounds of the law with firmness and caution

In keeping with Gov. Bello Matawalle’s vision, Mu’azu claims that his goal is to eradicate insecurity and other societal vices in a lightning-fast manner.

This is a message to all criminals and thugs terrorizing the state to leave, he said, adding that Zamfara would no longer be a safe place for them to hibernate.

He stated that the state’s ban on the selling of gasoline in gallons and containers was still in effect and issued a warning to fuel merchants known as black marketers to cease their business.

Mu’azu warned fuel marketers against diverting petroleum goods, but he also promised that the command will keep an eye on how the fuel was distributed in the state.
