“politics of lies’ – Politician Emeka Ihedioha – denies writing Malami not to, release Nnamdi Kanu:

Emeka Ihedioha, a former governor of Imo state and deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, has refuted rumors that he wrote Attorney General Abubakar Malami a letter requesting that he not release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Remember that the Court of Appeal requested Kanu’s release last week after dismissing the allegations the Federal government had brought against him

On October 16, a letter written by the previous governor and addressed to the AGF became online. Ihedioha is said to have pleaded with the AGF in the letter not to free Kanu in order to maintain peace and stability in the southeast. Ihedioha is not in government, hence there won’t be peace in the state, according to a recording that was also making the rounds.

Ihedioha said he had no connection to the letter or tape that was making the rounds in a statement sent on Sunday, October 16.

It seems that some people are dissatisfied with their mandate that was stolen. They intend to use a planned campaign of lies to draw me out. Furthermore, those waging this smear campaign against me are doing it at the command of the same man who imposed himself on Imo state.

But I can see their predicament. After they were successful in their nefarious plan to have me removed from office, they understood that the bigger struggle lay in winning the public’s hearts and minds. And that’s proving challenging

They are now desperate because they have failed to win over Imo State’s good people over the past 34 months. and also growing risky. They are now cooperating with political outlaws across party lines because they are so dangerous.

Emeka Ihedioha was their worst nightmare while in office. To their utter dismay, however, they have also come to realize that I have remained a greater adversary even after leaving office, which is why they have been running a constant campaign of defamation with the aim of tarnishing my character and driving a wedge between me and Imolites.

Nothing is off-limits when doing this. They have fabricated documents, created voicemails, lied, and made the most of social media tossing mud to see who stays

In this evil effort, they make use of issues that are very important to our people.

A letter purportedly written by me to the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, advising him to advise him not to honor the appeal court judgment that discharged and acquitted Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, in order to not jeopardize the 2023 elections, were two examples of such devious acts.

Knowing my background and current situation, it is absurd and hilarious that I would write to the Attorney General of the Federation and request that he continue to unjustly hold onto Nnamdi Kanu even after a court of competent jurisdiction had released him. What advantages will writing such a letter have for me in a situation that is so volatile, sensitive, and public? How is that even logical?

Ihedioha requested security organizations to look into the origin of the letter and audio that were claimed to be from him.

“While Nigerians are aware that people who can fabricate polling results for manufactured votes can fabricate anything, I have chosen not to remain mute in the face of this criminal character assassination because as the 2023 elections draw nearer, the evil plots would become more sophisticated.

But because our people are smarter than that, I am not very concerned. But we can’t keep letting crime take over society forever. I thus implore the security agencies to look into and prosecute those responsible for this obvious fake. Criminal activity shouldn’t be viewed as a kind of government. The Imolites merit better.
