Atiku was addressing a statement made by Festus Keyamo, the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council.

Atiku was compared by Keyamo to a bus conductor who was applying for a driver’s position.

Atiku, according to the state minister for labor and employment, was merely clinging to the accomplishments of his previous boss, former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

Keyamo emphasized that, in the run-up to the 2023 presidential election, the former vice president has nothing to sell to Nigerians.

He argued that Tinubu, whom he compared to a driver for eight years, is not someone with whom Atiku can compare himself.

According to Keyamo, Tinubu was in command of a State at the same time that Atiku served as Obasanjo’s underling for eight years.

In response, Atiku disparaged Keyamo’s remark through his spokesperson, Paul Ibe.

Ibe compared Tinubu in a tweet to a drug lord who is applying to lead a counterdrug organization.

He wrote on Twitter that Tinubu “may be compared to a drug baron seeking for the position of head of an anti-narcotics organization while other drug dealers are serving time in jail.”
