“Ronaldo’s record goals see Man Utd: – beat Everton:

As Manchester United rallied from a goal behind at Goodison Park to defeat Everton, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 700th club goal.

Ronaldo has had a miserable season thus far after being relegated to the role of a substitute after failing to get his desired summer transfer away from Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial was injured again just three games into his comeback from the previous one, thus Ronaldo was sent on as a first-half substitute. Ronaldo raced on to Casemiro’s through ball and beat Jordan Pickford with a low shot to the England goalkeeper’s near-post.

The 37-year-old scored, his first on this field since 2005, and it was enough for United to maintain its lead against Everton after Alex Iwobi took advantage of Casemiro’s early error to give the hosts the lead.

When Antony equalized after being set up by Martial, he became the first United player to score in his first three Premier League outings.

Had Marcus Rashford’s goal not been overturned for handball eight minutes from time, the victory would have been more easily secured for the hosts. Instead, it required a spectacular save from David de Gea to keep the score in favor of the hosts.

Casemiro is effective.
It was a mixed night for one of Ronaldo’s old Real Madrid teammates who has joined him at Old Trafford, even though his return to goal scoring was highly appreciated by the visiting fans.

Erik ten Hag has committed to spending £70 million to acquire Casemiro, who is under contract to his club until the Brazilian turns 35.

Given his high price and wealth of experience, the midfielder’s absence from the thrashing at Manchester City last weekend was unexpected. Given the situation, Ten Hag’s choice to give him his first league start was very simple.

Even with so many awards under his belt at age 30, Casemiro obviously still has some growing to do. He might have been awarded a free kick in Spain when Onana shoved him off the ball, setting up Everton’s opening goal. Referee David Coote signaled the game to continue tonight.

Casemiro was unaffected by the setback.

Running unnoticed onto Rashford’s cross, he should have scored, hitting the ground in anger as his header missed the goal. But he made up for it with the through-ball that Ronaldo used to sprint into the Everton goal and score his historic goal.

Continued to play without hassle, Casemiro took the ball in confined spaces and laid off passes to the close range.

Ten Hag was rushed out of possession more frequently than he would have preferred, and by the end, the United manager had brought in Raphael Varane and Scott McTominay for more defensive support to finish the game.

Everton fails to take advantage of a strong start.
It was a letdown for the hosts, who had the chance to surpass both Manchester United and Merseyside rivals Liverpool in addition to winning three straight games for the first time during Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure at the club.

They couldn’t have gotten off to a better start. Iwobi’s goal, a beautiful curling attempt from 25 yards, was much aided by Onana’s perseverance.

But Frank Lampard’s team struggled to maintain possession for protracted periods, and when they did, too many careless passes prevented them from building a lead.

Demarai Gray’s well-placed free kick that ended up floating beyond the goal area and out for a goal kick summed up their evening, and Anthony Gordon will be suspended for Saturday’s trip to Tottenham due to his card for a behind-the-back foul on Bruno Fernandes.

Even though Dominic Calvert-Lewin will need to be carefully controlled following his second extended absence in a year, his return should at least give the offense another offensive focal point.
