The warning was the first formal indication that Kyiv would have a harder time obtaining US aid as it fends off Russia’s invasion as Washington’s bipartisan support is starting to dwindle.
The Chamber Speaker is in charge of approving budgets passed by the house, hence McCarthy hopes to become the speaker if Republicans win control of the House of Representatives on November 8.
The United States has given Ukraine $17.6 billion in military aid since the beginning of Russia’s incursion in February, albeit this amount does not include humanitarian help.
In response to McCarthy’s caution, Biden stated on October 20:
While running for office in Pennsylvania, Biden stated, “They said that if they win they’re not likely to support, to continue to fund Ukraine.”
These folks don’t understand, It’s considerably larger than Ukraine. East Europe is involved. NATO does it. It has quite dangerous, long-lasting consequences.
“They are completely ignorant of American foreign policy.”
