The footage was actually shot during the attack on Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s convoy on October 17, 2020, at the End Sars rally in Osogbo, according to the command’s spokeswoman, Yemisi Opalola.
A police spokeswoman urged state citizens to dismiss the information and carry on with their regular activities without harboring any concerns about their safety.
The declaration said;
“The Osun State Police Command’s attention has been brought to the circulating report and social media footage claiming Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s convoy was attacked by Osun Youths on October 8, 2022.
“The Osun State Police Command wishes to remind the general public that the news/trending video on social media was the attack on the convoy of the Osun State Governor, His Excellency Oyetola Adegboyega, about 2 years ago, on October 17, 2020, and not October 8, 2022, as was maliciously distributed.
“To clear the air, I want to let you know that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not visited Osun State recently for any program at all. As a result, the Commissioner of Police urges the decent citizens of the State to dismiss the information and carry on with their daily lives without worrying about their safety.
