They emphasized that, in contrast to some states in the nation, Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration has been consistent with the payment of their salaries and has implemented a number of excellent reforms in the education sector that have elevated Enugu State to distinctions both within the nation and abroad.

The teachers expressed their joy at the governor’s outstanding accomplishments in the education sector and other areas of the state, despite the state’s limited resources and the difficulties facing the nation since he took office.

As a result, they gave Governor Ugwuanyi their unwavering support and pledged to vote for him to represent Enugu North Senatorial District in the National Assembly in 2023 on the Peoples Democratic Party platform (PDP).

Principals and educators spoke to the governor on behalf of Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the PDP’s choice for governor in the general election of 2023, under the leadership of Dr. Mrs. Favour Ugwuanyi, the new chairman of the PPSMB.

They promised him that they would support Barr as well. Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, Mbah, his running companion, and all other PDP candidates in the state.

The principals and teachers expressed gratitude to Gov. Ugwuanyi for reestablishing the PPSMB and appointing intellectuals with a track record of success, noting that their beneficial influence is already being seen in the state’s educational system.

Speaking, Mr. Robert Okolie, Chairman of the Enugu State Association of Nigerian Conference of Principals of Schools (ANCOPS), argued that the Gov. Ugwuanyi administration’s investment in the education sector was the reason Enugu State recently ranked first among public secondary schools in Nigeria that submitted candidates for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examination in 2021.

The ANCOPS head wished Gov. Ugwuanyi well and commended him for his dedication to high standards in education and the welfare of teachers. You can rest assured that every PDP candidate is already a victor. They should get ready to celebrate their election victory.

The PPSMB Head of Department (HOD), Central Registry, Mrs. Joy Agbara, referred to Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration as a “education-friendly administration” and noted that the governor has done a lot of good things for the education sector, including converting teachers, paying inherited promotion arrears, hiring 1,000 teachers, renovating and building classroom buildings, and providing modern learning tools like computers and laboratory equipment.

“Your Excellency, we have never had it this nice,” she continued. That is a component of what you are viewing today’s secret. If you look at our schools, the setting used to be nothing to write home about when you entered them, but now it is conducive to teaching and learning. It has been donated to Enugu State by you.

“Our children performed well in the JAMB and WAEC exams. Among other accomplishments, our pupils are ICT compliant.

“We stated that we had to come since expressing thanks is more important than anything else. The sword of a traitor is better than an act of ingratitude. We thank you, Your Excellency.

In the same vein, Governor Ugwuanyi was praised for his administration’s transformational policies in the education sector and commitment to the wellbeing of the principals and teachers by the Coordinator of Teachers for Good Governance (TGG), Mrs. Ify Dunu, the Chief Supervising Principal (CSP), Mr. Christopher Ekwunife, and Mrs. Chinedu Eze from PPSMB Headquarters. They also assured the governor of their support for his and Barr. Mbah’s and other PDP candidates’

In support of their position, Dr. Mrs. Ugwuanyi, Chairman of the PPSMB, informed Gov. Ugwuanyi that the smiles on the cheeks of the principals and teachers were a result of their conviction that the governor had done so well for them.

She used the chance to thank the governor for sending her to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Jos, for training, for selecting her to lead the PPSMB, and for providing her with members of the Board who possessed integrity and intellectual strength.

The Board Chairman congratulated Gov. Ugwuanyi for educating 55 directors and permanent secretaries at NIPPS, a feat that had never been accomplished by a Nigerian state.

She emphasized that the Board’s historic accomplishments were made possible by the governor’s encouragement and the chances for success he provided.

Reiterating the teachers’ backing for the governor’s and other PDP candidates’ senate campaigns, Mrs. Ugwuanyi emphasized: “We will do it exactly as we have done before. In order to get things starting, let’s go to each of the six educational zones and give thanks on your behalf. On your behalf, it will be referred to as “Teachers Thanksgiving.” We will return to our various schools after Thanksgiving to begin what we call School-to-School Voters Education.

Among the dignitaries who attended the event were the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Augustine Nnamani, the PDP candidate for the Nsukka West Constituency, Hon. Amos Amadi Agbo, the former Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Hon. Ogbo Asogwa, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Religious Matters, Bishop Chinedu Nwoye, the Permanent Secretary/Secretary of the PPSMB, Rem

In a related event, women from Gov. Ugwuanyi’s village in Udenu LGA, the Orba, visited the governor under the banner of the “Orba Women Circle of Friends” to show their support for his bid for the Senate in 2023.

The Orba women, led by their president, Mrs. Ngozi Eze, came out in their vibrant clothing to express their sincere appreciation to God for choosing to allow their brilliant son to hold the lofty position of governor of Enugu State.

The ecstatic women praised Gov. Ugwuanyi for the massive development initiatives his administration had carried out in their neighborhood, Udenu LGA, Enugu North Senatorial District, and the state as a whole that “would survive generations unborn.”

They said they were proud of the governor for founding the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, building roads, facilities for sports, education, and health in rural areas, as well as other historic initiatives like human capital empowerment.

Asserting: “We hereby volunteer to be your foot-soldiers in vigorously campaigning for your success at the poll and be rest assured that we, your sisters, have you in prayers and are ever ready to assist in whatever capacity to ensure that you emerge as our Senator come 2023,” the women vowed their unwavering loyalty and support for the governor’s senatorial ambition.

The former Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Hon. Ogbo Asogwa, also led a group of canvassers from Nsukka LGA on a solidarity visit to Gov. Ugwuanyi at the Government House in Enugu and proclaimed that they are resolved to work for the success of the governor and the PDP at the polls.

Gov. Ugwuanyi was informed by Hon. Asogwa that the group’s members were chosen voluntarily from each of the 20 electoral wards in the Nsukka LGA, with one coordinator and five members from each ward working to ensure the governor and the PDP won the election.

The kind of people we chose, he said, “Your Excellency, are not just those who adore you but also those who are determined to work for the PDP at the grassroots level.”

The group will increase its membership and hire more canvassers at each polling place to encourage voters to support the governor and the PDP in the upcoming elections, according to Hon. Asogwa, who emphasized that Gov. Ugwuanyi has the necessary legislative experience and exposure to represent Enugu North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
