During the current 22nd National Women’s Conference (NWC) taking place in Lagos, Governor Wike announced the donation.
The offer is being made in the wake of the recent catastrophic flood, which swamped certain villages in the State and left people without a home or food supply.
Remember that the devastating flood has forced more than 200 communities from their homes in four local councils in Rivers State: Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (ONELGA), Ahoada West, Ahoada East, and Abual Odual.
In a speech given during the event, Wike claimed that Lagos State’s continued leadership in the nation is due to the participation of women in politics and decision-making.
He expressed amazement at the work that COWLSO is carrying out in Lagos State and pledged to apply everything he had learned from the conference in his own State.
Additionally, Governor Wike made use of the occasion to announce his unwavering support for Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-candidacy Olu’s for reelection in the general elections of 2023.
