Will was in a difficult place in the days after the slap, and the actor claims Floyd Mayweather contacted him every day for ten days straight to check on him.
Smith revealed this at a private showing of his latest film “Emancipation” at the London hotel.
Will took a moment to thank Floyd, who was present, for being there for him despite the fact that they weren’t exactly great friends at the time.
Says Will Smith “Regarding Floyd, I also have something to say. We had met and seen each other before, but we weren’t really buddies.
“He also called me every day for ten days starting the day after the Oscars. He then said, “You realize you’re the champ, right?” You okay? You are the champion, right? You should hear my voice saying it.
Every day he called, and I thought, “That’s my boy for life right there.”
