The incident was confirmed by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, in a statement on Friday, October 14, 2022. He stated that the suspect was apprehended by police officers assigned to Mararaba’s “A” Division under the direction of CSP Musa Babayola.
The incident reportedly occurred behind the City Rock Hotel in Mararaba at around 03:30 hrs., when the deceased and his girlfriend got into a fight over an argument, according to the PPRO’s preliminary inquiry.
Accordingly, the suspect was detained, and the knife that was used to commit the crime was subsequently found, all in accordance with the Commissioner of Police’s instructions, CP Adesina Soyemi, the statement said.
The State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia, has received the suspect “for further investigation and potential prosecution.”
