The FIFA men’s World Cup kicks off on Sunday, November 20, 2022, in Qatar.
Argentina, Brazil, France and Germany are all favourites to clinch the trophy, but Hoddle believes that Qatar 2022 will produce plenty of surprises.
“I think England are in that little crop of about six countries that could win. If I was to put a bet on it, I’d probably say Brazil,” he told Metro.
The former manager, however, pointed out that the tournament this year will open with a couple of favourites, including Brazil’s likes.
Hoddle said he does not believe Brazil are hot favourites, insisting that there’s no standout team to pick from.
“I think Brazil tick a lot of the boxes,” he added.
